And the winner is...

Franco Zeffirelli's version of Hamlet!

This was my favorite version of the play not only because of the actor choice, but because of the scenery and the way the movie was played out. Even though we only got to watch about 3 minutes of the very beginning of the movie, it made me want to watch more. The very start of it gave a suspenseful mood just as how the play starts. Also, I enjoyed the fact that the setting was so much more different than the other two that we saw after. While the others were more modern, Zeffirelli's version showed the true Shakespearean era throughout the movie. The characters were easy to point out and it was just overall more simple to follow along.

Out of the three clips of the movies we watched, this was nonetheless, my favorite. From the costumes that the actors pulled off, to the setting that brought out the true detail in Zeffirelli's directing, I found everything about it more exciting than the others that we watched. Although the funeral of Hamlet Sr. was the scene that started off the movie, and not the play, I understand why Zeffirelli would choose to do that. Therefore, I believe that Franco Zeffirelli's movie version of Hamlet was by far, my favorite.
